Using Opt-in Signature Capture vs. Paper Consent
Admins can enable two different methods to capture classic opt-in consent from an account:
- Signature Capture – The account uses the device to sign his or her opt-in consent. This option is only available on mobile devices. Signature Capture is made available by placing the signature_datetime__v field on the appropriate multichannel_consent__v layouts, and adding the Signature Capture app control to the appropriate consent_type__v layouts.
- Paper Consent – Paper consent is made available by placing the signature_id__v field on the appropriate multichannel_consent__v page layouts.

- Browser, iPad, iPhone Users
- Users require an Approved Email license
- End Users

On mobile devices, these two methods can be made simultaneously available based on their placement and requirement on the page layout.
The following tables describe the page layout requirements for the four possible configurations of these two methods.
