Upselling Suggestions
Upselling Suggestions inform the user of an opportunity to sell more products to a customer by showing discounts that will be applied when the next quantity, list amount, or net amount threshold is reached . Upselling Suggestions are defined as part of a pricing rule through the Suggestion Text and Suggestion Threshold Fields.
For example, a brand level rule pricing rule is created for providing a 10% discount on all Cholecap brand products if 200 or more Cholecap brand products are ordered. A suggestion threshold is added to the pricing rule to display the suggestion text to users if they have at least 180 Cholecap brand products on the order. When the user adds a Cholecap product that brings the total of Cholecap brand products on the order to an amount between 180 and 200, the suggestion text – “Order 200 Cholecap to receive 10% off” – displays to the user to encourage them to sell more quantity of Cholecap brand products.

Creating Upselling Suggestions as
Order Admins
To create Upselling Suggestions:
- Navigate to a pricing rule record of a supported object type.
- Set Suggestion Text field to the message the user should see on the order line.
- Set Suggestion Threshold field to the minimum value that should trigger the suggestion text to display, based on the comparison type of the pricing rule. The maximum value for the suggestion text to display is based on the Quantity Minimum field of the pricing rule.
- Select Save.
Upselling Suggestions can be used with the following pricing rule object types:
- Discount Rule
- Brand Level Rule
- Product Group Level Rule
- Delivery Discount Rule
- Free Goods Rule
- Free Goods Percentage Rule
Upselling Suggestions are not available for Cross-Product Pricing Rules or Chain Pricing Rules.
Using Upselling Suggestions as
End Users
Upselling Suggestions that apply to the total order are displayed for each order line. The Upselling Suggestion is no longer shown once the criteria for the pricing rule is met and the pricing rule is applied. Multiple Upselling Suggestions for each order line can be shown at once.
To use Upselling Suggestions:
When an upselling suggestion applies:
The Upselling Suggestion section displays in the [I don’t know what we’re calling this area yet] section. All Upselling Suggestions for the order and order lines are shown in this section.
The Upselling Suggestion icon is shown on the individual order line. Hovering over the icon displays the suggestion text.
When an Upselling Suggestion applies:
- The Upselling Suggestion icon is shown on the order line in the list of all order lines.
- The Upselling Suggestion icon and suggestion text is shown at the top of the individual order line page.
