## Creating Product Specialties

Align operations users can create product specialty records to store promotion eligibility. Centralizing this data in Vault means teams can take advantage of Vault's native lifecycle and workflow tools to build review and approval processes around product specialty matrices.

### Configuring Product Specialties for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Configuring Align](../Configuration/ConfiguringAlign.htm) is complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | aln\_product\_specialty\_\_v | CRED | product\_specialty\_\_v | * eligibility\_reason\_\_v * external\_id\_\_v * product\_\_v * promotion\_eligibility\_\_v * requested\_promotion\_eligibility\_\_v * specialty\_\_v | Edit |
6. Navigate to the **Tabs** tab.
7. Grant access to the **aln\_product\_specialty\_\_v** tab.
8. Navigate to the **Application** tab.
9. Select the following check boxes in the Workflows section:

   * Start
   * Participate
10. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Vault Users**.
11. Assign the following application roles to the appropriate users:

    * aln\_brand\_manager\_\_v
    * aln\_medical\_reviewer\_\_v
    * aln\_legal\_reviewer\_\_v

### Creating Product Specialties as

Align operations users can create product specialty records when there is a new product or specialty to add:

1. Navigate to the **Product Specialties** tab.
2. Select **Create**.
3. Populate the following fields:

   * product\_\_v – The associated product
   * specialty\_\_v – The associated specialty
   * requested\_promotion\_eligibility\_\_v – Select the appropriate promotional eligibility to request. Available options are:
   * promotion\_allowed\_\_v
   * promotion\_prohibited\_\_v
   * educational\_only\_\_v
   * eligibility\_reason\_\_v – Select the appropriate eligibility reason
4. Select **Save**.

This process can also be done via the Vault Loader.

Additionally, the lifecycle of the aln\_product\_specialty\_\_v object supports customizable workflows that enable the newly requested product specialty to be routed to legal and medical teams for approval.
