## Using Targeting in Align

Align operational users can perform targeting, enabling the generation of Multi-Channel Cycle Plan (MCCP) data within Align which is then made visible to users in CRM. Targeting allows operational users to create MCCP data to identify the subset of account assignments that should be targets for a given sales cycle, setting goals specific per channel and product.

### Configuring Targeting in Align for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure the following features are configured:

   * [Configuring Align](../Configuration/ConfiguringAlign.htm)
   * [Modeling in Align](../TerrModeling.htm)
   * [Configuring Multichannel Cycle Plans](../../CyclePlans/MCCP/ConfigMCCP.htm)
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | mc\_cycle\_plan\_summary\_\_v | CRED | All | All Fields | Edit |
   | mc\_cycle\_plan\_target\_\_v | CRED | All | All Fields | Edit |

6. Select the **Tabs** tab in the permission set.
7. Grant access to the following tabs:

   * aln\_targeting\_\_v
   * aln\_cycles\_\_v
   * aln\_channel\_templates\_\_v

### Viewing and Managing Cycles as

Align operational users can navigate to Targeting > Cycles to view a list of all cycles sourced from Align.

The grid is sortable by all columns except object reference fields, and is sorted by Name in ascending order by default.

To create a Multichannel Cycle:

1. Navigate to **Targeting > Cycles**.
2. Select the **All Actions** menu.
3. Select **Create a new MC Cycle**.
4. Populate the following fields:

   * Name - The name of the cycle
   * Field Force - Select the appropriate [field force](../TerrAssignment/RosterMemberAssignment/FieldForce.htm)
   * Start and End Date - Select the appropriate start and end dates
5. Select **Save**.
6. Create all appropriate MCCP and MCCP related records, just as you would when [Creating Multichannel Cycle Plans](../../CyclePlans/MCCP/Creating/CreateMCCP.htm) in Vault CRM.

### Creating Channel Templates as

Align operational users can create reusable Channel Templates, allowing users to quickly apply the same weight and channel criteria to new channels. Templates give an organization the ability to standardize channel criteria across markets and ensure each market measures activities in a uniform manner, as well as making it easier for operational users to create Targeting cycles for their markets. Align operational users can create Channel Templates through the Channel Templates option under the Targeting tab.

To create a Channel Template:

1. Select the **Channel Templates** option on the Targeting tab.
2. Select **Create** to display the Template Creation page.
3. Populate the following required fields:

   * Channel Label
   * Vault CRM Instance
   * Channel Object
   * Channel Weight
4. Select **Add Criteria** once Align has retrieved the channel object details for the instance.
5. Build the criteria specifying which activities should be counted against a channel’s goals for the purpose of a targeting cycle.

### Manually Adding Targets as

Align operational users can manually add targets from within the cycle plan to ensure the correct targets are included.

To add targets:

1. Navigate to the appropriate **mc\_cycle\_plan\_\_v** record.
2. Navigate to the **Targets** section.
3. Select **Create**.
4. Use the **Account** lookup field to select the appropriate account in the corresponding territory.
5. Populate all appropriate goals for **mc\_cycle\_plan\_channels\_\_v** and **mc\_cycle\_plan\_products\_\_v**.
6. Select **Add Row** to repeat this process as many times as necessary.
7. Select **Save**.
