## Selecting a Territory

End users assigned to multiple territories can select the desired territory for each call report they create. Associating calls and territories allows for analysis of call activities by territory—for example, interpreting sales data in reports, creating cycle plans, and comparing user performance across territories.

To configure this feature, ensure [Configuring Call Reporting](../../ConfiguringCR.htm) and [Configuring Territory Management](../../../TerritoryManagement/Config.htm) are complete.

### Using Selecting a Territory as

[![Closed](../../../../../Skins/Default/Stylesheets/Images/transparent.gif)End Users](#)

By default, the territory for the call is set to the first territory in the user’s assigned territories. To change the territory, select the appropriate territory from the territory\_\_v picklist on the call report.

![](../../../../Resources/Images/Activities/CallReporting/Default/SelectTerritory.PNG)

The territory\_\_v field picklist displays territories defined both as territories of the primary account of the call and as one of a user’s assigned territories. Users' assigned territories include territories one level down in the territory hierarchy. If values do not exist for this intersection, a list of the user’s territories display.

Do not remove Read access to the territory\_\_v object and parent\_territory\_\_v field on the territory\_\_v object. By default, users are granted Read permission to the territory\_\_v object and all fields on the object. To select a territory on the call report, users must have at least Read access to the territory\_\_v object and parent\_territory\_\_v field.

#### Considerations

Consider the following when using the territory picklist:

* The territory field cannot be edited after a call is saved
* For iPad users, None is not an available option
* Use of the territory picklist overrides the default territory assignment for the call
