## Employee Commenting on Advanced Coaching Reports

Employees can add a comment when reviewing their coaching reports to allow participation in the coaching report process. Once the employee completes the report, managers can view the employee’s comments.

**Who can use this feature?**

* Employees - Browser, iPad, iPhone

### Configuring Employee Commenting on Advanced Coaching Reports for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Advanced Coaching Reports](#) is enabled.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select **Objects**.
5. Grant Edit permission to the **enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v** field on the survey\_\_v object.
6. Grant Edit permission to the **enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v** field on the survey\_target\_\_v object.
7. Grant Edit permission to the **employee\_comment\_\_v** field on the survey\_target\_\_v object.

To enable this feature:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
2. Select the appropriate permission set.
3. Select **Objects**.
4. Grant Read permission to the **enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v** field on the survey\_target\_\_v object.
5. Grant Edit permission to the **employee\_comment\_\_v** field on the survey\_target\_\_v object.
6. Add the **employee\_comment\_\_v** field to the appropriate survey\_target\_\_v layouts.

### Using Employee Commenting on Advanced Coaching Reports as

Survey Designers can enable employee commenting on an advanced coaching report survey by selecting one of the following values for the enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v field:

* Disabled - Employee Commenting is disabled for the coaching report. This is the default value.
* Comment Optional - Employee commenting is enabled but comments are not required before the employee can complete the coaching report
* Comment Required - Employee commenting is required before the employee can complete the coaching report

When reviewing an advanced coaching report, the employee\_comment\_\_v field displays in its own section underneath survey questions, regardless of the field's position on the layout.

If enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v = Comment Optional, the employee can enter a comment before completing the advanced coaching report. If enable\_employee\_comment\_\_v = Comment Required, the Employee must enter an employee comment before completing the advanced coaching report.
