## Searching for Attendees Outside of the User's Territory

To improve the attendee invitation process, end users can search for attendees to add to their event that are outside of their territory. This enables end users to invite potentially interested accounts to their events, even if they would normally be unable to access the account due to territory constraints.

### Configuring Outside of Territory Search for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Configuring Events Management](../Configuration/Config.htm) is complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | address\_\_v | R | All appropriate object types | All fields on the address\_v object that end users should be able to search on | Read |
   | em\_attendee\_\_v | CRED | All appropriate object types | entity\_reference\_id\_\_v | Edit |
   | em\_event\_rule\_\_v | R | attendee\_fields\_\_v | search\_outside\_territory\_\_v | Read |
6. Add the **search\_outside\_territory\_\_v** field to the em\_event\_rule\_\_v layout assigned to the attendee\_fields\_\_v object type.
7. Navigate to the **Event Rules** related list of the appropriate em\_event\_configuration\_\_v record.
8. Select **Create**.
9. Select **Attendee Fields** for the object type.
10. Select **Continue**.

    If an Attendee Fields type Event Rule already exists, you can edit the existing record instead.
11. Select the **search\_outside\_territory\_\_v** checkbox.
12. Populate or edit all other appropriate fields.
13. Select **Save**.

To search for an attendee outside of the user's territory in the Browser:

1. Open the [Select Attendee](Attendees.htm#Creating) modal for the appropriate event.
2. Enable the **Include Outside Territory** checkbox.

3. Search for and select the appropriate attendee.

To search for an attendee outside of the user's territory on the iPad:

1. Open the [Select Attendee](Attendees.htm#Creating) modal for the appropriate event.
2. Select the **Filter** button.
3. Enable the **Include Outside Territory** toggle.

4. Search for and select the appropriate attendee.

Users cannot [view the account hierarchy](Hierarchies.htm) or view related accounts for accounts outside of their territory.

Selected attendees outside of the user's territory display as gray pills. These pills display to all event team members viewing the Select Attendees modal, even if the Include Outside Territory option is not currently enabled.
