## Applying Required Event Material Rules Based on Event Status and Program Type

To enable more granular control over when end users are warned about missing event materials, business admin users can configure Required Event Material Rules to only apply to events with certain statuses or program types. This ensures warnings display at the most relevant point in the event workflow.

### Configuring Required Event Material Rules Based on Event Status and Program Type for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure the following features are configured:

   * [Configuring Events Management](../Configuration/Config.htm)
   * [Event Business Rules Overview](EventBusinessRules.htm)
   * [Creating Required Event Material Rules](EventMatsRules.htm)
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | em\_business\_rule\_configuration\_\_v | CRED | n/a | program\_type\_\_v | Edit |
6. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > em\_business\_rule\_\_v > Layouts**.
7. Ensure the **event\_status\_\_v** field is placed on the layout assigned to the em\_required\_event\_material\_rule\_\_v object type.

### Applying Required Event Material Rules to Specific Event Statuses and Program Types as

To specify the certain event statuses for a Required Event Material Rule:

1. Edit the appropriate em\_required\_event\_material\_rule\_\_v type Event Business Rule. See [Creating Required Event Material Rules](EventMatsRules.htm) for more information.
2. Populate the event\_status\_\_v field using the following format:

   Status1;;Status2

   For example, approved\_\_v;;pending\_approval\_\_v
3. Select **Save**.

To specify the certain program types for a Required Event Material Rule:

1. Navigate to the appropriate **em\_required\_event\_material\_rule\_\_v** type Event Business Rule.
2. Navigate to the **Event Business Rule Configurations** section.
3. Edit the appropriate **em\_business\_rule\_configuration\_\_v** record.
4. Populate the **program\_type\_\_v** field using the following format:

   ProgramType1;;ProgramType2

   For example, host\_\_v;;series\_\_v
5. Select **Save**.

When event organizers create an event, only Event Material Rules with matching event statuses or program types are executed. em\_event\_material\_\_v records are created for each applicable rule.
