## Recording a Call from an Event

Events Management end users frequently host small-scale events at specific accounts, for example, healthcare organizations. During these events, the end user may have conversations with attendees necessitating a call report. End users can create call reports directly from their events, which automatically records important event details.

### Configuring Recording a Call from an Event for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure the following features are configured:

   * [Configuring Events Management](../Configuration/Config.htm)
   * [Configuring Call Reporting](../../Call_Reporting_2/ConfiguringCR.htm)
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > Select the appropriate permission set > Objects**.
3. Grant end users the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | call2\_\_v | CRE | event\_\_v | * account\_\_v * address\_\_v * em\_event\_\_v | Edit |
4. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > Select the appropriate permission set > Objects > em\_event\_\_v > Object Action Permissions**.
5. Grant end users Execute permission to the **Record a Call** action.
6. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > em\_event\_\_v > Layouts** and edit the appropriate layout.
7. Add the **Calls** related object section to the layout.
8. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > em\_event\_\_v > Object Types** and select the Actions link.
9. Select **All Actions (...) > Edit Object Type Actions** and select the Record a Call checkbox for the appropriate object types.
10. Add the **record\_a\_call\_\_v** button to the visible\_buttons\_\_v field on the appropriate em\_event\_layout\_\_v records. See [Defining Event Layouts](../Configuration/DefiningPageLayouts.htm) for more information.

#### Configuring Suggested Call Attendees

Admins can optionally configure the event's attendees to display as suggested attendees of the associated call report:

1. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > call2\_\_v > Layouts** and edit the layout assigned to the event\_\_v object type.
2. Add the **Attendees** section to the layout, ensuring the **Person Account Attendees** Section Attribute checkbox is selected.

End users can create calls from an event via the following methods:

* Selecting the Record a Call button from the event
* Navigating to the Calls event related object and selecting the New Call button

The created call2\_\_v record has the following properties automatically populated:

* Object Type – Populates based on the following logic:
* If the event is not an [account-based event](../Planning/AssociateAcctEvent.htm), the object type is event\_\_v
* If the event is an [account-based event](../Planning/AssociateAcctEvent.htm), the object type is selected based on the [Default Call Object Type](../../Call_Reporting_2/ConfiguringCR.htm#Defining2)

  Calls created from account-based events respect the [Restricting Calls by Account](../../Call_Reporting_2/Restrictions/RcAcct.htm) and [Restricting Calls by Account Object Type](../../Call_Reporting_2/Restrictions/RcType.htm) features.
* em\_event\_\_v – References the corresponding em\_event\_\_v record
* account\_\_v – Populates if the event is an [account-based event](../Planning/AssociateAcctEvent.htm). Copies the account\_\_v field from the corresponding event.
* address\_\_v – Copies the address\_\_v field from the corresponding event

If [Configuring Suggested Call Attendees](#Configur) is configured and the corresponding event is not an account-base event, the Attendees section of the new call2\_\_v record automatically populates with the event's speakers and attendees as suggested attendees for the call.

Relevant action items display for attendee accounts on the call, according to [action item display criteria](../../Call_Reporting_2/Executing/Activities/ActionItems.htm#DisplayCriteria).

Out of territory attendees can be added to events, but they are not selectable on the call report.
