## Medical Event Start and End Times

End users can populate a Medical Event's start and end times to better display this information in several [My Schedule](../CallPlanning/CPOverview.htm) calendar views. This enables end users to quickly see the time frame for an upcoming Medical Event.

### Configuring Start and End Times on Medical Events for

To enable this feature for end users:

1. Ensure the following features are configured:

   * [Configuring Medical Events](Configuring_Medical_Events.htm)
   * [My Schedule](../CallPlanning/CPOverview.htm)
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | medical\_event\_\_v | Create, Update | n/a | * start\_time\_\_v * end\_time\_\_v | Edit |
6. Add the following fields to the appropriate medical\_event\_\_v page layouts:

   * start\_time\_\_v
   * end\_time\_\_v
7. Remove the following fields from medical\_event\_\_v page layouts:

   * start\_date\_\_v
   * end\_date\_\_v

   The start\_time\_\_v and end\_time\_\_v fields replace the functionality of these two fields. Populated start\_time\_\_v and end\_time\_\_v fields are prioritized over populated start\_date\_\_v and end\_date\_\_v fields.
8. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > veeva\_settings\_\_v** and edit the Global Veeva Settings record.
9. Select the **ENABLE\_SCHEDULE\_MEDICAL\_EVENT** checkbox.

When creating or editing medical\_event\_\_v records, end users can populate the start\_time\_\_v and end\_time\_\_v fields to define when the event starts and ends.
