## Using Opt-in Signature Capture vs. Paper Consent

Admins can enable two different methods to capture classic opt-in consent from an account:

* Signature Capture – The account uses the device to sign his or her opt-in consent. This option is only available on mobile devices. Signature Capture is made available by placing the signature\_datetime\_\_v field on the appropriate multichannel\_consent\_\_v layouts, and adding the Signature Capture app control to the appropriate consent\_type\_\_v layouts.
* Paper Consent – Paper consent is made available by placing the signature\_id\_\_v field on the appropriate multichannel\_consent\_\_v layouts.

* End Users — Browser, iPad, iPhone

* Users require an Approved Email license

On mobile devices, these two methods can be made simultaneously available based on their placement and requirement on the layout.

The following tables describe the layout requirements for the four possible configurations of these two methods.

#### Option 1

Mobile device behavior: Signature capture or Paper consent are available, either one is required.

Online behavior: Paper consent.
