## Retiring Expired Presentations

* Object Model

Expired presentations can be removed from use without requiring users to sync their devices. This helps to reduce the number of presentations from a user’s media library, making it easier to find presentations they need.

**Who can use this feature?**

* Business Admin Users - Browser
* End Users - CRM Desktop (Windows), iPad, iPhone, Windows

* Users do not require an additional license

### Configuring Retiring Expired Presentations

To configure retiring presentations for admins:

1. Grant **Edit** field permission to the following fields on the clm\_presentation\_\_v object:
   * end\_date\_\_v
   * start\_date\_\_v
2. Populate the **start\_date\_\_v** and **end\_date\_\_**v fields on the appropriate **clm\_presentation\_\_v** records.

To configure retiring presentations for end users, grant **Read** field permission to the following fields on the clm\_presentation\_\_v object:

* end\_date\_\_v
* start\_date\_\_v

When the start\_date\_\_v and end\_date\_\_v fields on clm\_presentation\_\_v records are populated, users are only able to display presentations in the CLM media player and from Calls if the current date is between the start\_date\_\_v and the end\_date\_\_v (inclusive).

For training purposes, the Training tab displays Training presentations before the start\_date\_\_v date, but does not display presentations after the end\_date\_\_v date.

#### Expiring Slides in Custom Presentations

The start\_date\_\_v and end\_date\_\_v fields are suppressed for [custom presentations](../NavigatingMedLib/CustomPres.htm). However, expired slides in custom presentations are removed once synced.

If a custom presentation includes an expired sub-presentation, the custom presentation is also expired. If the user created other custom presentations using Key Messages from the expired custom presentation, those custom presentations are still available if the Key Messages are active

Veeva recommends reviewing inactive presentations and deactivating any Key Messages which are no longer in use.
