## Defining Detail Groups on Consent Lines

Products in the product catalog are often tied to detail groups. Customers cannot communicate information to an HCP about a product if it is tied to a detail group when the HCP grants consent only for the product. Including detail groups on consent lines for products allows users to capture consent for products with detail groups. On the Consent Capture screen, products display as lines under their assigned detail groups.

### Configuring Detail Groups on Consent Lines for

To configure detail groups on consent lines for business admins:

1. Ensure [Configuring Consent Capture](../CCConfiguration.htm) is complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | consent\_line\_\_v | n/a | n/a | * detail\_group\_\_v * detail\_group\_display\_name\_\_v | Edit |
6. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects > Consent Line > Layouts**.
7. Place the **detail\_group\_\_v** and **detail\_group\_display\_name\_\_v** fields on the consent\_line\_\_v layout for the product\_\_v object type.

To configure detail groups on consent lines for end users:

1. Ensure [Configuring Consent Capture](../CCConfiguration.htm) is complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following field permissions:

   | consent\_line\_\_v | n/a | n/a | * detail\_group\_\_v * detail\_group\_display\_name\_\_v | Read |

### Setting Up Products with Detail Groups as

To set up a product with a detail group:

1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > Consent Headers**.
2. Select the **consent\_header\_\_v** record related to the consent line.
3. Set the **consent\_header\_status\_\_v** field to Inactive or Staged to allow edits to related records.
4. Select the **consent\_type\_\_v** record related to the consent line from the Consent Types dropdown section.
5. Select the appropriate **consent\_line\_\_v** record from the Consent Lines dropdown section.
6. Select **Edit**.
7. Populate the **detail\_group\_\_v** field with the appropriate detail group.
8. Populate the **detail\_group\_display\_name\_\_v** with a custom display name.
9. Navigate back to the related **consent\_header\_\_v** record.
10. Set the consent\_header\_status\_\_v field to **Active** or **Staged**:

    * Active — displays consent channels and lines on the Consent Capture screen and prevents further editing
    * Staged — hides the consent records from end users while allowing consent admins to review how the Consent Capture screen displays

When end users navigate to the Consent Capture screen, consent lines for products are organized by detail group. The detail groups display in alphabetical order. Consent lines without detail groups display under Common.
