## Recommended Quantity

Recommended quantities can be used to help users meet their sales goals and aid in the negotiation process. For each product on an order, users can quickly view and apply a recommended quantity unique to the account.

### Configuring Recommended Quantity for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Configuring Order Management](../../OM_Config.htm) is complete.
2. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permissions | Object Types | Fields | Field Permissions |

   | product\_information\_\_v | CRED | n/a | * recommended\_quantity\_\_v * recommended\_quantity\_reason\_\_v | Edit |
   | order\_line\_\_v | CRED | All | * recommended\_quantity\_\_v * recommended\_quantity\_reason\_\_v * recommended\_quantity\_used\_\_v | Edit |
3. Grant view permission to the **product\_information\_v** tab.
4. Add the **recommended\_quantity\_\_v** and **recommended\_quantity\_reason\_\_v** fields to the product\_information\_\_v layout.

To configure this feature:

3. Add the **recommended\_quantity\_\_v** field to the order\_line\_\_v layout.
4. Add the **recommended\_quantity\_reason\_\_v** and **recommended\_quantity\_used\_\_v** fields to the order\_line\_\_v layout (optional).
5. Enable the appropriate VMOCs for **product\_information\_\_v**.

Recommended Quantity can be set by entering a value in the recommended\_quantity\_\_v field on Product Information. Recommended Quantity Reason can be set by entering a value the the recommended\_quantity\_reason\_\_v field on Product Information.

Recommended quantities can be generated using a company’s preferred analytics solution.

When Fixed Units of Measure is enabled, ensure the recommended quantity is a multiple of the quantity per case.

Recommended Quantity is not supported for Bundle Packs or Product Kit Items.

### Using Recommended Quantity as

Recommended quantity display on each order line when available. The user can select the Accept link in the recommended quantity column to accept the recommended quantity for the product. When the user accepts a recommended quantity, the recommended\_quantity\_used\_\_v field is checked.

The user can still edit the quantity field after they have accepted a recommended quantity. The recommended\_quantity\_used\_\_v field remains checked.

When a user copies an order, the accepted recommended quantity is not automatically applied.
