## Product Group Level Pricing Rules

Product Group Level pricing rules define discounts on the product group level. Product group level discounts are defined as a percentage.

Product Groups are represented in the product catalog by records with product\_type\_\_v = product group\_\_v. Order products can belong to multiple, one, or no product groups. See [Product Groups for Order Management](../../ManagingProducts/OM_ProductGroups.htm) for more information.

When products are added to an order, Product Group Level pricing rules can set the product\_group\_discount\_\_v field.

If the product\_group\_discount\_\_v field is on the layout for order\_line\_\_v, the user can manually override the product group level discount determined by the pricing rules. The product\_group\_discount\_\_v field can only be edited if a product group is defined for the order line in the product\_group\_\_v field. The override value is applied to product\_group\_discount\_\_v for all products with the same product\_group\_\_v value defined on the order line. The product\_group\_discount\_\_v cannot exceed discount\_override\_max\_\_v.

See [Product Groups for Order Management](../../ManagingProducts/OM_ProductGroups.htm) for more information on defining product\_group\_\_v on the order line.

#### Comparison Type

* If Product Group Level Rule comparison\_type\_\_v equals the product\_quantity\_\_v, then quantity\_\_v of all products in the product group are considered to determine if the product group level discount applies. If a product is in multiple product groups, it is considered towards all product groups, even if product\_group\_\_v is defined on the order line.
* If Product Group Level Rule comparison\_type\_\_v equals the list\_value\_\_v, then quantity\_\_v multiplied by list\_amount\_\_v of all products in the product group are considered to determine if the product group level discount applies. If a product is in multiple product groups, it is considered towards all product groups even if product\_group\_\_v is defined on the order line.
* If Product Group Level Rule comparison\_type\_\_v equals the net\_value\_\_v, then quantity\_\_v multiplied by net\_amount\_\_v of all products in the product group are considered to determine if the product group level discount applies. If a product is in multiple product groups, it is considered towards all product groups even if product\_group\_\_v is defined on the order line.
