## Free Goods Pricing Rules

Free Goods pricing rules define quantities of free goods included with an order. Free Goods are defined as a quantity.

Free Goods pricing rules can be combined with line level discounts, order level discounts, brand level discounts, and product group level discounts. Free Goods pricing rules cannot be combined with Free Goods Percentage pricing rules.

### Configuring Free Goods Pricing Rules for

To configure this feature, ensure [Configuring Order Management](../../OM_Config.htm) is complete.

### Creating Free Goods Pricing Rules as

To create a Free Goods pricing rule:

1. Navigate to **Home > Pricing Rules** tab.
2. Select **Create**.
3. Select **Free Goods Rule** in the Object Type Selector.
4. Select **Continue**.
5. Complete the following fields:
   * name\_\_v
   * product\_\_v (product\_type\_\_v must be order\_\_v or kit\_item\_\_v)
   * start\_date\_\_v
   * end\_date\_\_v
   * comparison\_type\_\_v
   * minimum\_quantity\_\_v
   * maximum\_quantity\_\_v (optional)
   * free\_goods\_\_v
   * free\_goods\_max\_\_v (optional)
6. Select **Save**.

When products are added to an order, Free Goods pricing rules can set the free\_goods\_\_v field.

If the free\_goods\_\_v field is on the layout for order\_line\_\_v the user can manually override the free goods determined by the pricing rules. The free\_goods\_\_v cannot exceed free\_goods\_max\_\_v.

If records are data loaded with negative free goods values, the values display as negative values in View mode. Entering a negative value directly in the UI is not supported.

#### Comparison Type

* If Free Goods Rule comparison\_type\_\_v equals the product\_quantity\_\_v, then quantity\_\_v of the product is considered to determine if the free goods applies
* If Free Goods Rule comparison\_type\_\_v equals the list\_value\_\_v, then quantity\_\_v multiplied by list\_amount\_\_v quantity\_\_v of the product is considered to determine if the free goods applies
