## Using AI Auto-Fill in Patient Intake Forms

Manually processing patient intake forms is a lengthy process prone to errors. End users can use the OCR AI Auto-Fill feature to automatically extract and populate data from intake forms directly into Patient CRM, saving time and reducing error rates.

AI Auto-Fill streamlines new patient intake and can also update existing patient information, for example, insurance and Rx information, if they are enrolling in a new Patient Journey.

### Configuring AI Auto-Fill Patient Intake for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Configuring Patient CRM](../Config/ConfiguringPatientCRM.htm) is complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following permissions:

#### Configuring Field Mappings for the AI Auto-Fill

Fields in Patient CRM must be mapped to text on patient intake forms for the AI Auto-Fill to correctly populate fields:

1. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > channel\_assignment\_\_v**.
2. Select **+ Create**.
3. Select **fax\_\_v** for the object type, then select **Continue**.
4. Populate the intake\_form\_mapping\_\_v field with the list of text from the form corresponding to fields in Vault CRM. Use the following format:

   object\_name\_\_v.field\_name\_\_v:"text on form";;object\_name\_\_v.field\_name\_\_v:"text on form"

   Where “text on form” represents the text on the patient intake form to map to the field.

   All Veeva-provided or custom fields from the following objects are supported:

   * account\_\_v
   * patient\_attribute\_\_v
   * patient\_journey\_\_v
   * patient\_insurance\_\_v
   * patient\_prescription\_\_v

   Up to 150 fields are supported.
5. Select **Save**.

### Intaking Patients with the AI Auto-Fill as

End users can use an AI Auto-Fill during the Patient Intake process to automatically populate fields from an uploaded fax document.

AI Auto-Fill is available for new patient intake only.

To automatically populate intake fields:

1. Navigate to one of the following sections of the appropriate Patient Intake record with an associated fax document.

2. The attached document is automatically scanned and any mapped fields are automatically populated.

   * If a field in the Create Patient section is already populated, a confirmation modal displays to Overwrite All with the AI Auto-Fill

3. Select a field that displays the AI icon. The corresponding value on the intake form highlights within the fax document.

4. Verify that all AI populated fields are correct. Incorrect fields can be manually overridden by the end user.
5. Select **Create Patient**.
