## Product Metrics for Child Accounts

Product Metrics can be associated with child account records to help field users identify and prioritize their highest-value targets. With access to granular, location-specific data, field users can make informed, data-driven decisions to focus their efforts on locations with the highest prescription volume, greatest growth opportunity, or biggest competitive threat.

For example, an HCP’s prescribing habits for certain products are typically formed by the organization they are associated with. Users can record the HCP’s position on those products and have that information available when recording a call.

### Configuring Product Metrics for Child Accounts for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure the following are complete:
   * [Configuring Child Accounts](../../Accounts/ChildAccounts/ChildAcctConfig.htm)
   * [Configuring Product Metrics for Accounts](ProdMetrics.htm)
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select **Objects**.
5. Grant the following permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Fields | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | product\_metrics\_\_v | CRE | product\_metrics\_\_v | * location\_\_v * location\_child\_\_v * location\_parent\_\_v | Edit |
6. Grant View permission to the **child\_account\_ratings\_\_v** object control on the child\_account\_\_v object.
7. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > veeva\_settings\_\_v**.

* Select the **Enable Child Account** checkbox
* Select **Save**

8. Navigate to **Admin > Configuration > Objects**.

* Select **child\_account\_\_v**
* Select **Layouts**
* Add the **child\_account\_ratings\_\_v** section control to the appropriate layout

9. Navigate to **Business Admin > Objects > vmobile\_object\_configuration\_\_v**.

* Add the following WHERE clause for the appropriate product\_metrics\_\_v mobile device:WHERE (account\_\_v\_\_r.name != null ) or (location\_\_v\_\_r.child\_account\_\_v\_\_r.name != null and location\_\_v\_\_r.parent\_account\_\_v\_\_r.name != null)
* Ensure the **Account Lookup Field** does not contain a value
