## Supporting Child Accounts in Surveys

Survey designers can add child accounts as survey targets when creating surveys, and end users can select child accounts as survey targets when creating new survey targets. Surveys for child accounts allow organizations to collect information that is specific to a person at a particular location because HCPs often work at multiple locations.

Surveys for child accounts are supported for the One Time and Recurring survey types in CRM.

### Configuring Child Accounts in Surveys for

To configure this feature:

1. Ensure [Configuring Surveys](../SurveysInitalConfig.htm)  and [Configuring Child Accounts](../../Accounts/ChildAccounts/ChildAcctConfig.htm) are complete.
2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.
4. Select the **Objects** tab.
5. Grant the following object and field permissions:

   | Object | Object Permission | Object Types | Field | Field Permission |
   | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
   | survey\_\_v | CRED | All | target\_type\_\_v | Edit |
   | survey\_target\_\_v | CRED | All | * child\_account\_\_v * location\_\_v * target\_type\_\_v | Edit |
6. Add the **target\_type\_\_v** field on the survey\_\_v object to the One Time and Recurring layouts.

To configure this feature:

2. Navigate to **Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets**.
3. Select the appropriate permission set.

5. Grant the following object and field permissions:

6. Add the **Survey Targets** related list to the child\_account\_v layouts.
7. Add the **child\_account\_\_v** and **location\_\_v** fields on the survey\_target\_\_v object to the layouts for one time and recurring survey targets.
8. Add the **child\_account\_\_v** and **location\_\_v** fields on the survey\_target\_\_v object to the fields displayed on the My Surveys tab.

Survey designers can load survey targets using [Vault Loader](https://platform.veevavault.help/en/gr/26597/) or [Data Grid Loader](../../General/DataGridLoader.htm).

#### Loading Survey Targets for Child Accounts with Vault Loader

The system stamps the child\_account\_\_v value on the Survey Target based on the values of location\_\_v and account\_\_v when the survey targets are loaded.

When loading survey targets for child accounts:

* Ensure the **no\_autoassign\_\_v** field on the survey\_target\_\_v record is enabled. The survey target account owner must be assigned by the data load. The publishing process does not consider child account territory assignment when assigning survey target account ownership.
* Ensure both the **account\_\_v** and **location\_\_v** fields on the survey\_target\_\_v record are populated and correspond to an existing child account record.

#### Monitoring Results for Child Accounts

From the Survey tab, survey designers can monitor survey results and segmentation data collected from survey targets that target child accounts.

#### Considerations

Survey Targets for surveys targeting child accounts cannot be added from the Survey Management screen. They can be added by the survey designer using [Vault Loader](https://platform.veevavault.help/en/gr/26597/) or [Data Grid Loader](../../General/DataGridLoader.htm), or if the survey is an open survey, they can be added by end users.

#### Executing Surveys Targeting Child Accounts

End users can execute survey targets that target child accounts from the Survey Target page, the Call Report, and the Child Account page related list.

End users can search for child accounts alongside accounts to create child account survey targets from the Add Survey Target page.

If the Create button is selected from the Survey Targets related list on a child account, the child account is pre-selected in the Survey Target creation wizard.

#### Considerations

Before using child accounts with surveys, consider the following items:

* When a child account-enabled user creates a survey target, the user must select either an account or child account before available surveys display
* For a child account-enabled user, the address does not display in the Survey Target creation wizard
* Child account enabled-users can search for child accounts in the Survey Target creation wizard using Furigana
