Retaining GPS Coordinates When Modifying an Address
To avoid losing GPS coordinate information for their accounts’ addresses, users can prevent GPS coordinates from being reset when modifying fields on address__v records. This eliminates the need to re-enter GPS coordinates after editing existing records.
If a user notices an HCP's address is misspelled, they can modify the street name to the correct spelling and select Save. The record is modified but the GPS coordinates to the HCP's office remain the same.

Configuring GPS Coordinate Retention for
End Users
To enable this feature:
- Ensure Configuring Accounts is complete.

Grant users the following permissions:

- Place the clear_gps_coordinates__v field on the appropriate address__v layouts.
Using GPS Coordinate Retention as
End Users
If the clear_gps_coordinates__v check box is deselected, the GPS coordinates are maintained when records are edited.
If the clear_gps_coordinates__v check box is selected, the GPS coordinates are cleared when records are edited.
The clear_gps_coordinates__v check box resets to the default value of deselected after a single edit to an address record. Users must ensure the check box is not selected if they want to maintain GPS coordinates after editing fields.
