Restricting Controlled Substance Delivery by State
Organizations can limit which delivery methods are available for controlled substance samples, helping users comply with state regulations. Restrictions are set in Vault CRM on a state-by-state basis, enabling organizations to ensure that call sampling is only restricted for calls in the specific states where these regulations apply.
Validation Disclaimer
On the Windows (Beta) platform, this feature is released without validation for sampling. The feature requires enablement and does not affect other Vault CRM functionality. It was extensively tested by our QA team during the development and release process and will go through validation at a later date.

Configuring State Delivery Restrictions for
Business Admin Users
To configure this feature:
- Ensure the following configuration is complete:
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set.
- Select the Objects tab.
- Grant the following permissions:

- Place the settings__v field on the appropriate samples_state_settings__v layouts.

To configure this feature:
- Ensure the following configuration is complete:
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set.
- Select the Objects tab.

Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > samples_state_settings__v.

Create samples_state_settings__v records for each state where controlled substance delivery is restricted.
Only create records for states where restrictions are required. If a record does not exist for a state, users can disburse samples via hand sampling or BRC.
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > vmobile_object_configuration__v.
- Ensure the appropriate VMOCs are enabled for the sample_state_settings__v object.
Using State Delivery Restrictions as
End Users
When there is a sample state settings record for a state, users are limited to disbursing controlled substance by the specified method for accounts in that state. There are three options for restricting sample delivery methods in a specific state:
- Hand Sample Only - Prevents users from disbursing controlled substances via sample request/BRC
- BRC Sample Only - Prevents users from disbursing controlled substances via hand delivery
- No Sample - Prevents users from disbursing any controlled substances for the given state
If Restricting Sampling by Account Credentials and State is also enabled, both sets of restrictions apply. For example, if there is a Samples State Credential Settings record for New Jersey restricting controlled substance sampling to MDs only, and there is also a Samples State Settings record restricting controlled substance delivery to BRCs, then controlled substances can only be disbursed via BRC to MDs in New Jersey.
