Defining Allowed Products
By using the allowed products feature, customers can ensure that planned calls created through data load comply with restrictions on product detailing and sampling. If planned calls for users are created through an automated process, the allowed products feature restricts the products that a user can detail or sample on a call to only those allowed for the particular call or territory. This is useful because call and product restrictions do not apply when call records are created through data load.
Validation Disclaimer
On the Browser platform, this feature is released without validation for sampling. The feature requires enablement and does not affect other Vault CRM functionality. It was extensively tested by our QA team during the development and release process and will go through validation at a later date.
Who can use this feature?
- Browser, iPad, iPhone Users
- Users do not require an additional license
- End Users
Configuring Allowed Products for

Allowed products can be configured by call, by territory, or by both. To configure this feature:
- Ensure Configuring Call Reporting is complete.
- Populate the allowed_products__v field on the data loaded call2__v record with a double semicolon delimited list of the products that are allowed to be detailed or sampled, to define allowed products by call (optional). The format of the products in the field must be as follows: Product1;;Product2;;Product3;;. For example, Cholecap;;Curemist;;Mightmist;;
- Populate the allowed_products__v field on the tsf__v object with a double semicolon delimited list of the product and detail topic names to be detailed, to define allowed products by territory (optional). The format of the products in the field must be as follows: Product1;;Product2;;Product3;;. For example, Cholecap;;Curemist;;Mightmist;;
On the Browser platform, allowed products by territory are not supported for Call Sampling.
Using Allowed Products as

When allowed products are defined by call, users can only detail or sample the specified products on calls. When allowed products are defined by territory, users can only detail the specified products and topics on calls for accounts in that territory.
The following considerations apply, whether allowed products are defined by call or by territory:
- If both the allowed_products__v fields on the tsf__v object and on the call2__v object are populated, products must be included in both allowed_products__v fields in order to display on the call report
- If both the allowed_products__v fields on the tsf__v object and on the call2__v object are null or blank, users can detail or sample all products to which they have access
- Product restrictions override allowed products. If a product is listed in both restricted_products__v and allowed_products__v, then it is restricted.
- If a product's Parent Product is listed in the allowed_products__v field, samples and promotional items for that product are available on the call reports
