Restricting Products by Account
Product detailing and sampling can be restricted by account. This helps ensure users comply with regulations or organization policies concerning product detailing and sampling. For example, by United States regulations, users are not supposed to detail or sample a specific product to HCPs who do not have DEA licenses.

Configuring Product Restrictions for

To configure this feature:
- Ensure Configuring Call Reporting is complete.

Populate the restricted_products__v field on the account__v object with a double semicolon delimited list of the product and detail topic names that should be restricted. For example: Cholecap;;Restolar;;Labrinone;;
- Grant users read field permission to the restricted_products__v field on the account__v object.
- Place the restricted_products__v field on the appropriate layout for the account__v you want to restrict (optional). Adding the restricted_products__v field to the account layout allows users to view which products are restricted for the account.
Using Product Restrictions on the Call Report as

Product restrictions are enforced throughout Vault CRM wherever products are used, including the following areas:
- Call Reporting - On the call report, users cannot detail or sample restricted products for an account
- Approved Email - Emails referencing the restricted product will not be sent to that account
- Suggestions - Suggestions for that account do not display any restricted products
- CLM - Users cannot display presentations referencing restricted products for an account, or capture CLM Key Messages for an account's restricted products
If a user attempts to detail products that are restricted for an account, an error message displays and the user is not able to record the products on the call report.
If a product is restricted for any attendee on the call, users are prevented from saving and submitting the call with the restricted product selected. Restricted products do not display on the parent call report. This applies for group calls and for person accounts calls with location enabled.
