Using the Go Online Button

End users can use the Go Online button to display the Vault platform or any external URL in the embedded browser. Selecting the Go Online button displays the embedded browser with the destination page. This allows users to access external links or view the full online version of a record for a more complete view of the information.

The following entry points are available:

  • The Go Online tab on the home page
  • The Go Online option on a record
  • When submitting a sample inventory. See Capturing Inventories for more information.

Who can use this feature?

Considerations

  • When users use the Go Online button from a record, users are automatically signed into Vault online
  • The Go Online button cannot be configured to open the device's default browser (Safari) instead of the embedded browser

Enabling the Go Online Button as

The URL behind the Go Online tab can be configured to navigate to any Vault CRM page or external URL. The destination page is stored in the online_tab_url__v Veeva Setting. If the setting is blank, the Go Online menu item does not display on the Vault CRM for iPad home page.

External sites are entered as absolute URLs (e.g. http://www.veevasystems.com). Note the URL must be fully qualified (i.e. begin with http://).

Using the Go Online Button as

The Go Online button displays in the More menu. When end users select Go Online, the configured link displays in the embedded browser.
