Data Change Requests Overview
A Data Change Request (DCR) is a request to modify certain account data and is created when data is changed and needs to be validated. DCRs allow data stewards to approve changes, improving accuracy and compliance, and providing a single source of truth for customer data.

Using Data Change Requests as

When enabled, DCRs are created whenever a user creates or edits an Account, address__v, or child_account__v record. These change requests are first verified by a data steward, and become available in Vault CRM after approval.
A DCR is created in Vault CRM, pushed to the Veeva Network for data change approval, and after processing is pushed back to Vault CRM.
For DCRs of type New sent to Network, additional data_change_request_line__v records are created for non-DCR Field Types. This allows Vault CRM to retain the information on the record when it is created.
A DCR is created for each separate object that is created or edited:
- Account
- Address
- Child Account
For example, the creation of an Account via the Parent Account Wizard creates three DCRs:
- New Account
- New Address
- New Child Account
A DCR has three statuses:
- Submitted - The DCR is created online or in Vault CRM for iPad and is waiting to be pushed to Veeva Network
- Pending - The DCR is pushed to Veeva Network and is being evaluated
- Processed - The final evaluation results are pushed from Network, the DCR updated, and the results are viewable by the user
