Creating and Managing Contract Partners
Contract partners are used to associate an account with a contract. A contract can be associated with multiple accounts, and an account can be associated with multiple contracts. Before associating a contract with an order or inventory monitoring for an account, users must create and/or activate the Contract Partner.
Who can use this feature?
- Browser, iPad Users
- Users do not require an additional license
- Contracts Admins, End Users
Creating Contract Partners as

To create a contract partner:
- Select Create in the Contract Partner section of the contract you just created.
- Select the Contract Partner Type.
- Select Continue.
- Complete the following fields:
- Contract Partner Name
- Other fields as needed
- Select Save.

End users can create contract partners if the Contract Partner related list is added to the Contract or Account detail layouts. On iPad, contract partners can only be created using the Contract Partner related list on the Account Detail page.
Activating Contract Partners as

To activate a contract partner:
- Select a contract partner.
- Select Activate from the All Actions menu.
If the signature_datetime__v field is on the contract_partner__v layout, the contract partner cannot be activated until the contract partner is signed. To activate a contract partner with a signature, see [signature help page]
When a contract partner is activated, the contract partner cannot be edited or deleted. Attachments can still be edited.
