Creating Classic Cycle Plans
Cycle plan admin users create cycle plans to provide a structured framework for promoting products and messages, and for maintaining relationships with targeted accounts. Cycle plans are created either through data loading or manual record creation.
Each cycle plan consists of two primary components: a cycle plan and its targets. The cycle defines the overall structure for the plan, including name, dates, and territory. The cycle plan targets are the accounts which users are encouraged to visit during the defined time period, as part of the plan. Optionally, detail product goals can be added to encourage users to discuss specific products with target accounts.

Creating Classic Cycle Plans as

To create cycle plans in bulk, data load Cycle Plan and Cycle Plan Target records into Vault CRM using the Vault Loader. For more information on data loading, see About Vault Loader.
To manually create a Classic Cycle Plan, complete the following sections in this order:
Creating the Cycle Plan
To create a cycle plan:

Select the Cycle Plans tab.

Select Create.

Enter the appropriate information:
- Name
- Start Date
- End Date
- Territory

Ensure the Active check box is selected.

Select Save, or select Save & New to create another cycle plan.
Each active cycle plan can only be applied to one territory.
Cycle plans are activated when the Active check box is selected, and the current date is within the plan start and end dates. Only one cycle plan per territory can be active at any given time.
Adding Cycle Plan Targets and Goals
Cycle Plan Target records are used to identify the accounts users should visit as part of the plan and set goals for how many times users should visit the target accounts. Target accounts are determined based on factors including segmentation, past sales data, field input, and marketing initiatives.
Cycle plan admin users can data load Cycle Plan Target records or create Cycle Plan Targets from the Cycle Plan Targets tab in the Business Admin section of Vault CRM. When creating Cycle Plan Targets, complete the following fields:
- Cycle Plan - Select the appropriate cycle plan
- Target - Select the target account
- Planned Calls - Enter the call goal for the target account in the cycle plan territory
- Planned Total Calls - Enter the call goal for the target account across all territories aligned with the account
Adding Cycle Plan Detail Products
Cycle Plan Detail records define which detail products are included in a cycle plan, if the organization sets goals for product detailing in addition to general call activity. The user’s My Setup products are available in cycle plans, as long as the product is not excluded from cycle plans.
Cycle plan admin users can data load Cycle Plan Detail records or create them from the Cycle Plan Details tab in the Business Admin section of Vault CRM. When creating Cycle Plan Details, complete the following fields:
- Target - Select the target account
- Product Catalog - Select the appropriate detail product for the product goal
- Planned Details - Enter the goal for detailing the specified product to the target account in the cycle plan territory
- Planned Total Details - Enter the goal for detailing the specified product in all territories aligned with the account
- Priority - Enter a priority for the product (optional). This causes the product to be highlighted as a target product on the call report. For more information, see Highlighting Target Products on the Call Report.
