Filtering Event Budgets
Business admin users can configure filters for the list of budgets that display as available for an event. Reducing the number of budgets displayed to end users enables end users to quickly select the appropriate budget to add to their event, which in turn reduces any potential errors that need to be corrected during event approval.

Configuring Budget Lookup Filtering for

To configure this feature:
- Ensure Managing Event Budgets is enabled.
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set.
- Select the Objects tab.
- Navigate to the em_budget__v object.

Grant Edit permission to the following fields used for filtering and matching:
- product__v
- program_type__v
- event_format__v
- location_type__v
- Navigate to the em_event__v or em_catalog__v objects, based on if filtering should match against the event or the event's topic.

Grant Edit permission to the same fields you granted Edit permission to on the em_budget__v object.
When a filtering field is enabled on the em_event__v object, matches to the same field on the em_catalog__v record representing the event’s topic are ignored.
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > Events Management Settings.
- Select Edit.
- Select the enable_event_budget_filter__v check box.
- Select Save.

Defining Budgets for Filtering as

Business admin users can define budgets for filtering by populating the following fields on the appropriate em_budget__v records, based on the fields configured for filtering:
- product__v
- program_type__v
- event_format__v
- location_type__v
Viewing the Filtered List of Available Budgets as

When adding a budget to an event, the list of em_budget__v records automatically filters based on the following:
- status__v = available_for_use__v
- em_budget__v records that match configured filtering fields on the em_event__v record or em_catalog__v record representing the event’s topic
Budgets are considered a match if the configured filtering fields are blank on the budget, event, or catalog record.
