Managing Attachments Offline
Users can upload and delete image and document attachments to records where attachments are enabled, including via Attachments related lists. Users can upload supplemental materials to provide context to HCP interactions.

Configuring Attachment Uploads for

To ensure attachments are allowed on an object:
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects.
- Select the appropriate object.
- Select the Allow Attachments check box in the Options list in the object details.
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects.
- Select the appropriate object.
- Ensure a VMOC for the object is active.
- Select Include Attachments on the VMOC.
To enable attachment uploads and control the quality of image attachments, admins can set the photo_quality__v Veeva Setting to one of the following values:
- 1 = low quality images
- 2 = medium quality images
- 3 = high quality images
The default value is 0, which disables attachment uploads.
To prevent users from uploading photo attachments from their Camera Roll, admins can enter the value 1 in the camera_roll__v Veeva Setting. The default value is 0, which allows users to access their Camera Roll from CRM.
If the Use Action security to control attachments option is selected in an object's details, then end users must be granted access to the following object actions on that object in order to manage attachments:

Uploading Attachments as

When adding an attachment to an Attachments related list, users can select Upload Photo to attach a photo from their Camera Roll or Upload File to attach a document. Additionally, an informative error message displays when a file cannot be saved. Depending on the error, one of the following Veeva Messages displays the appropriate message:
- UPLOAD_FILE_CONNECTION_ERROR
- UPLOAD_FILE_SIZE_ERROR
- UPLOAD_FILE_TYPE_ERROR
The maximum attachment size supported on mobile devices is 35MB.
Users cannot upload an attachment with the same file name as an existing attachment on the record.
Photos captured within Vault CRM are stored in the local Vault CRM database and are not available in the user’s Camera Roll or Albums. Photos are deleted from the local database after they are successfully uploaded online via sync in order to save local storage. After syncing, the photos are available on-demand by returning to the record and downloading the images from the edit page or the Attachments related list.
Vault CRM does not support the use of the iCloud Photos Optimize iPad Storage Setting. Users should select Download and Keep Originals.
Users must download attachments from the Attachments related list to make them available on their devices. Only attachments for approved_document__v and html_report__v records are automatically downloaded. Users need an active internet connection to download attachments.
Deleting Attachments

To delete an attachment from the Attachments related list on a record, select Delete from the More Actions menu, then select Delete in the confirmation modal.
