CLM Content Metrics
- Document Model
- Object Model
CLM Content Metrics give content creators and other reviewers the data needed to make informed decisions about content reapproval, updates, and investment. The CLM Content Metrics Calculation job automates CLM content usage calculations for reporting. The job queries the Data Lakehouse, calculates CLM content usage metrics, and stores the resulting metrics in CLM Content Metrics records. These metrics are then synced to connected PromoMats/MedComms Vault instances via the Content Metrics Integration.

Activating the Content Metrics Integration as
The Content Metrics Integration is a standard connection between Vault CRM and a PromoMats or MedComms Vault instance. This integration syncs the calculated metrics records to PromoMats/MedComms for reporting and analytics. The following integration points are available:
Content Metrics Integration (outbound)
- PromoMats-CRM Connection: Content Metrics Integration
- PromoMats-CRM Connection: CLM Content Metrics Integration Point
- Medical-CRM Connection: Content Metrics Integration
- Medical-CRM Connection: CLM Content Metrics Integration Point
The integration and its integration points are inactive by default. Content admin users must activate the integration and the appropriate integration points to sync CLM content usage metrics to the connected PromoMats or MedComms Vault instance.
To activate an integration and an integration point:
- Navigate to Admin > Connections.
- Select PromoMats-CRM Connection or Medical-CRM Connection, according to the connected Vault type.
- Select the Content Metrics Integration in the Integrations section.
- Set the Status in the System Information section to Active.
- Select the CLM Content Metrics integration point in the Integration Points - Outbound section.
- Set the Status in the System Information section to Active.
Managing the CLM Content Metric Calculation Job as
By default, the CLM Content Metric Calculation job is active and runs daily at 2:00 AM, based on the timezone of the Vault CRM instance. The job queries the Data Lakehouse, calculates the metrics, and stores the resulting metrics in CLM Content Metrics records. If the previous day's data is not fully processed by 2:00 AM, additional metrics are included in the calculations during the next day's scheduled job.
Veeva recommends keeping the job scheduled for 2:00 AM. Scheduling it earlier can result in the job running before the previous day's data is finished processing in the Data Lakehouse, causing a 24-hour delay in metric visibility.
During the initial run, a CLM Content Metrics record is created for each calendar day, up to one year prior to the activation date of the job. Metrics are only calculated for the previous day during subsequent daily runs. If the daily job fails, calculations for the missing records are automatically attempted on the next successful run, up to a maximum of one year.
CLM Content Metrics records are deleted after three years.
