Executing a Survey
After a survey is published, it is available for end users to execute for target accounts. When end users execute a survey, they are answering survey questions and submitting the survey target record with information unique to the account.

Executing a Survey as

End users can execute published surveys for target accounts. This includes answering survey questions and submitting the survey target record with information unique to the account.
For example, an end user is on a call with an HCP who is a target for a survey regarding how often the HCP prescribes a particular medication. The end user opens the survey on their iPad and answers the survey questions based on responses from the HCP.
Executing an Existing Survey Target
When Survey Designers create one-time and recurring surveys, survey targets are added during the survey design process. During publishing, survey targets are assigned to end users to complete.
To execute an existing survey target:
- Select the Survey Targets tab (iPad, iPhone) or the My Surveys tab (Browser).
Users can also access survey targets on the survey target related list on an account.
- Select a record to display the Survey Target Execution page. This page displays the survey target record details along with a list of survey questions. The user cannot edit any of the fields on the survey target.
- Answer the survey questions.
- Save or Submit the survey target.
- Saving a survey target record creates question response records to store the user’s answers to the survey questions. The user can return to the survey and edit the question responses.
- Submitting a survey target record creates question response records to store the user’s answers to the survey questions, if the survey had not been saved previously. Once a survey target has been submitted, the user can no longer edit the question responses.
Adding and Executing New Survey Targets for Open Surveys
Users can create new survey targets for open surveys in the Survey Targets tab (iPad, iPhone), My Surveys tab (Browser), or the Survey Target related list on an account. An open survey is a survey that meets the following criteria:
- Survey start date is before or equal to Today
- Survey end date is after or equal to Today
- Survey state is Published
- Survey channels include CRM
- Survey open__v = True
- If survey object type = one_time__v, there cannot be an existing survey target record for the survey, account, and user
- If survey object type = recurring__v, there cannot be an existing Pending or Saved survey target record for the survey, account, and user. A user must submit their existing survey target before creating a new response.
- Account does not have a product limitation against the survey product
- User is assigned to one of the survey territories or a territory below one of the survey territories
- User is assigned to the survey product
To create a new survey target for an open survey from the My Surveys tab:
- Select the My Surveys tab.
- Select the global Create button.
- Select the account to create the survey target for. A list of available survey templates displays.
- Select the survey name to create a new survey target.
To create a new survey target for an open survey from the survey target related list on an account:
- Select an account record.
- Scroll to the Survey Targets related list.
- Select Create. The account the survey target will be created for is preselected, and a list of available survey templates displays.
- Select the survey name to create a new survey target.
To create a new survey target for an open survey from the Survey Targets tab:
- Select the Survey Targets tab.
- Select the plus icon.
- Select an account to create the survey target for. A list of available survey templates displays.
- Select the survey to create a new survey target.
To create a new survey target for an open survey from the survey target related list on an account:
- Select an account record.
- Select the Survey Targets related list.
- Select Create. A list of available survey templates displays.
- Select the survey to create a new survey target.
Updating a Recurring Survey Response
Users can use existing submitted survey targets from recurring surveys as a template for a new survey target. Updating a recurring survey response creates a copy of the survey target. The question responses in the copy are populated with answers from the previous survey target, so the user needs to edit the responses before saving or submitting the new survey target.
To update a recurring survey response:
- Select an account record.
- Scroll to the Survey Targets related list.
- Select a submitted recurring survey target record.
- Select the Update Response button. A copy of the previous survey target is created.
- Edit the question responses for the new survey target.
- Select Save or Submit.
