Redirecting the New Account Action to Global Account Search
Admins can configure Global Account Search to override the New Account action in My Accounts, forcing the user to search for an account outside of their territory before they can create a new account. This reduces the chance that users accidentally create duplicate accounts.
A user may search for an HCP and not find the account in their vault. The user can select New Account in order to create an account. Instead, Global Account Search displays and the user is prompted to first search for the account outside of her territory. If the account already exists, instead of creating a new account, the user adds the existing account to her territory.
This feature overrides any other redirection behavior surrounding the New Account action, for example, the New Account Wizard and the New Account DCR Process.

Configuring the New Account Action Redirect for
End Users
To configure this feature:
- Ensure Configuring Accounts is complete.
- Mark the my_accounts_redirect__v Global Account Search Setting check box.
Using the New Account Action Redirect as
End Users
When users select the New Account action, Global Account Search displays. Users are prompted to search for the account.
