Searching for Event Attendees and Speakers by Furigana
Furigana (振り仮名) is a Japanese reading aid that uses smaller syllabic characters alongside kanji or other characters to indicate proper pronunciation. End users can search for attendees and speakers by their furigana, enabling them to quickly identify the correct attendees and speakers to add to an event.

Configuring Searching by Furigana for

To configure this feature:
- Ensure Configuring Events Management is complete.
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set.
- Select the Objects tab.

- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > account__v > Layouts.
- Place the furigana__v field on the appropriate layouts.
Searching by Furigana as

Searching by Furigana is supported in the following locations within Events Management:
- Attendee Search, including when child accounts are enabled
- Searching for attendees outside of the user’s territory
- Searching for event speakers to add to an event
- Searching for attendees in the Digital Sign-in Sheet
- Searching for attendees using QR Sign-in
Furigana search results will match all formats, including Hiragana, full-width Katakana, and half-width Katakana.
Sorting by Furigana
The following lists of attendee and speaker names are automatically sorted first by furigana, then by Formatted Name.
- Viewing the list of an event’s attendees and speakers
- Attendee lists for QR Code® or digital sign-in sheets
- Attendees in the Event Sign-In Summary report
Users can search and sort parent and child accounts by furigana if child accounts are enabled.
