Configuring Medical Inquiries
Account Lookup
The Medical Inquiry feature is supported with person accounts. The Account lookup is stored in the account__v field on the medical_inquiry__v object.
Delivery Method Information
The delivery_method_field_control__v field control allows end users to enter preferred response method for the medical inquiry, for example, email.
Multiple Product Inquiries
The multiple_product_inquiries_field_control__v field control allows end users to add multiple product inquiries to a medical inquiry.
Configuring Medical Inquiries for
To configure this module:
- Ensure Configuring Accounts is complete.
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set.
- Select Objects
- Grant users the following permissions:

Edit - Grant Execute permission to the submit__v object action on the medical_inquiry__v object.
- Grant View permission to the delivery_method_field_control__v object control on the medical_inquiry__v object.
- Grant View permission to the medical_inquiry_save__v object control on the medical_inquiry__v object to allow users to save medical inquiries before submitting. This step is optional.
- Grant Execute permission to the create_medical_inquiry__v action on the account__v object.
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects.
- Select medical_inquiry__v.
- Select the Layouts tab.
- Select the appropriate layout
- Edit the medical_inquiry_status__v field and select the Display As Read-Only check box
- Add a Detail Form section.
- Place the delivery_method_field_control__v field control on the layout in the new section.

- Select the appropriate check boxes for the Optional Delivery Method and New Delivery Detail attributes. This step is optional.
- Select Done
- Place the medical_inquiry_save__v field control on the layout. This step is optional. This allows users to save a Medical Inquiry and submit it later.
- Ensure the delivery_method__v field is on the layout.
- Select Done
- Select Save
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > account__v.
- Select the Layouts tab
- Select the appropriate layout
- Place the medical_inquiries__v section control on the layout

- Do one of the following:
- Select Create record in the pop-up dialog to use the default object type
- Select Create record in new page to display an object type pop-up if the user has more than one type with Create permissions
- Select Done
- Select Save
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects > vmobile_object_configuration__v.
- Enable VMOCs for medical_inquiry__v for the appropriate mobile devices.
VMOCs for Medical Inquiry on iPad or iPhone are not needed for Medical Inquiries if the Include Related Objects check box is selected on the Account object VMOC for iPad or iPhone, and Medical Inquiry is configured as a related list on the Account detail page. Configuration for Specific Entry Points
To enable users to create a medical inquiry from the Call Report More Actions menu:
- Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permissions Sets.
- Select the appropriate permission set
- Select the Objects tab
- Select call2__v
- Grant View permission to the more_actions__v object control
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects.
- Select call2__v
- Select the Layouts tab.
- Select the appropriate layout
- Place the more_actions__v control on the layout in the buttons__v section
To enable users to create medical inquiries from CLM presentations:
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Tabs.
- Create a tab for the medical_inquiry__v object.
- Navigate to Business Admin > Objects < multichannel_settings__v.
- Enable the MEDICAL INQUIRY OVERLAY setting with a value of 1.
