Copying Presentations to Other Vaults
Content admin users can copy entire presentations from one instance of Vault CRM to another. When an agency completes development of a presentation in a development sandbox, the presentation can be copied to the customer’s test environment for review. Similarly, once the presentation is reviewed and ready for production, the presentation and all its components can be copied to production Vaults.
This functionality is only supported for content uploaded to Vault CRM via FTPS, not content managed in PromoMats/MedComms and synced to Vault CRM. See Uploading Media Files for Key Messages for more information.

Copying Presentations to Other Vaults as

For every clm_presentation__v record, any associated clm_presentation_slide__v and key_message__v records are copied to the target Vault. If any of the records exist in the target Vault, they are overwritten.
Duplicates are identified using each record’s external ID. The external ID must be populated on each of the source records for the new records to be created or updated successfully. The following ID fields for the supported objects are used:
- clm_presentation__v – presentation_id__v (must be unique)
- clm_presentation_slide__v – external_id__v
- key_message__v – media_file_name__v (must be unique)
- product__v – external_id__v
In order to ensure data integrity, the fields for the clm_presentation__v, clm_presentation_slide__v, and key_message__v objects in the source Vault should not be a subset of the fields on the target Vault. If there are more fields in the source Vault, a warning displays indicating there is no place to stamp the values of the extraneous fields in the target Vault.
To copy a presentation to another Vault:
- Navigate to the appropriate clm_presentation__v record.
- Select the More Actions button.
- Select Copy to Another Vault.
- Select the Destination URL for the target Vault.
- Select Copy to Another Vault to initiate the copying process.
Content admin users must have access to the target Vault using the same credentials as the source Vault. The source and target Vaults do not need to be in the same domain.
If there are errors found in the source or target Vaults while initiating the copying process, the list of errors displays. Content admin users must fix all the errors before selecting Try Again to retry the process.
If there are warnings related to the target Vault or duplicated content, the list of warnings displays. Content admin users can address the warnings and select Recheck Warnings to refresh the list of warnings, or select Copy to Another Vault to continue copying the presentation without addressing the warnings.
If there are errors found in the target Vault during the process of copying the presentation, the list of errors displays. Content admin users must fix all the errors before selecting Try Again to retry the process.
When the presentation is successfully copied to the target Vault, a pop-up displays in the top right corner of the screen.
