Configuring Opportunity Management
Competitor
The record representing a competitor organization in the market.
Opportunity
The core record used to organize and track a potential deal though its lifecycle stage. The record includes information to help sales users prepare for customer visits.
Opportunity Competitor
A related record linking a specific competitor and their corresponding product directly to an Opportunity, allowing users to track competitive intelligence for a given deal.
Opportunity Line
The related records that store information for specific products, quantities, and pricing details to automatically calculate Net Price and Net Amount information.
Opportunity Team Members
The related records that link a user to an Opportunity to define their role on the Opportunity, allowing organizations to track individual team member roles for a given Opportunity.
Configuring Opportunity Management for
To configure this feature:

Ensure Configuring the Product Catalog is complete.
Products for Opportunities must be product type, Order, with the parent product (product type Detail) selected in the user's My Setup.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Tabs.

Ensure the Opportunity tab is available. If not, create it.

Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.

Select the appropriate permission set.

Select the Tabs tab.

Grant view permission to the Opportunity tab.

Select the Objects tab.

Grant the following permissions:

Grant view permission to the opportunity_line_section__v object control on the opportunity__v object.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > opportunity__v > Layouts.

Ensure the opportunity_line_section__v section control is added to the appropriate opportunity__v object type layout.

Add the opportunity_competitor_section__v section control to the appropriate opportunity__v object type layout.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > account__v > Layouts.

Add the opportunity__v section control to the appropriate Account layout. This step is optional.
Configuring the Opportunity Management X-Page
Use the Opportunity Management page template to create an X-Page allowing users to view Opportunity-related information, for example, KPIs, pipelines, and revenue. When deployed, this X-Page acts as the home page for the Opportunity Management dashboard. To configure the Opportunity Management page template:

Ensure Configuring X-Pages is complete.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Tabs.

Ensure the Opportunity Overview tab is available. If not, create it.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Pages.

Ensure the Opportunity Overview page is available. If not, create it.

Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets.

Select the appropriate permission set.

Select the Tabs tab.

Grant view permission to the Opportunity Overview tab.

Select the Pages tab.

Grant view permission to the Opportunity Overview page.

Select the Objects tab.

Grant view permission for the Opportunity Management object type on the html_report__v object.

Grant Read permissions for the following object fields on the opportunity__v object:
