Recording a Call from an Event
Events Management end users frequently host small-scale events at specific accounts, for example, healthcare organizations. During these events, the end user may have conversations with attendees necessitating a call report. End users can create call reports directly from their events, which automatically records important event details.

Configuring Recording a Call from an Event for

To configure this feature:

Ensure the following features are configured:

Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > Select the appropriate permission set > Objects.

Grant end users the following permissions:

Navigate to Admin > Users & Groups > Permission Sets > Select the appropriate permission set > Objects > em_event__v > Object Action Permissions.

Grant end users Execute permission to the Record a Call action.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > em_event__v > Layouts and edit the appropriate layout.

Add the Calls related object section to the layout.

Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > em_event__v > Object Types and select the Actions link.

Select More Actions (...) > Edit Object Type Actions and select the Record a Call check box for the appropriate object types.

Add the record_a_call__v button to the visible_buttons__v field on the appropriate em_event_layout__v records. See Defining Event Layouts for more information.
Configuring Suggested Call Attendees
Admins can optionally configure the event's attendees to display as suggested attendees of the associated call report:
- Navigate to Admin > Configuration > Objects > call2__v > Layouts and edit the layout assigned to the event__v object type.
- Add the Attendees section to the layout, ensuring the Person Account Attendees Section Attribute check box is selected.
Creating a Call from an Event as

End users can create calls from an event via the following methods:
- Selecting the Record a Call button from the event
- Navigating to the Calls event related object and selecting the New Call button
The created call2__v record has the following properties automatically populated:
- Object Type – Populates based on the following logic:
- If the event is not an account-based event, the object type is event__v

If the event is an account-based event, the object type is selected based on the Default Call Object Type
Calls created from account-based events respect the Restricting Calls by Account and Restricting Calls by Account Object Type features.
- em_event__v – References the corresponding em_event__v record
- account__v – Populates if the event is an account-based event. Copies the account__v field from the corresponding event.
- address__v – Copies the address__v field from the corresponding event
If Configuring Suggested Call Attendees is configured and the corresponding event is not an account-base event, the Attendees section of the new call2__v record automatically populates with the event's speakers and attendees as suggested attendees for the call.
Relevant action items display for attendee accounts on the call, according to action item display criteria.
