Setting the Timeline as the Default View for an Account
The Account Timeline can be configured to be the default view for an account. This is useful for users who frequently access the Timeline view and enables users to quickly assess recent activity for the account.
Who can use this feature?
- iPad Users
- Users do not require an additional license
- End Users
Configuring the Timeline as the Default View for an Account for

To configure this feature:
- Ensure Configuring the Account Timeline is complete.

Populate the default_account_profile__v Veeva Setting with the appropriate value:
- For Commercial Vault CRM, populate the setting with either 1 or 3
- For Medical Vault CRM, populate the setting with either 0 or 1

Using the Timeline as the Default View for an Account as

When a user accesses an account, the Timeline page displays with an action list, enabling users to perform the following actions:
- View Full profile - Displays the Account Detail page
- Record a Call - This option displays if the following conditions are met:
- The record_a_call__v action is available
- The user has Create permission to the call2__v object and at least one object type
- Start Media - Displays the CLM media player on top of the current window. This option displays if the following conditions are met:
- The user has Create permission to the call2__v object and at least one object type
- The user has Read privileges on the clm_presentation__v and clm_presentation_slide__v objects
