Standard Rules
Veeva provides the following standard rules by default:
- Barrier - The stakeholder describes a factor that is limiting or preventing them, their patients, or other stakeholders from adopting or using the product. Does not include factors that have already been resolved or addressed.
- Need - The stakeholder requests information, resources, services, capabilities, or changes that could improve decision-making, adoption, implementation, or patient care. Does not include requests that have already been addressed or that the representative has already stated a plan to address.
- Unmet Clinical Need - The stakeholder identifies a gap in current treatment options where existing therapies do not adequately address patient needs. Can include limitations in efficacy, safety, durability, tolerability, convenience, or available treatment options for a patient population.
- Influencer Signal - Indicates that the stakeholder meaningfully influences the clinical decisions, product adoption, purchasing decisions, or practice behaviors of other healthcare professionals or institutions. Can include serving as a key opinion leader, clinical leader, department champion, referral leader, speaker, educator, committee member, or other influential decision-maker. Does not include mention of collaborating or working with other providers without a described effect on their clinical decisions or practice behavior.
- Peer Influence Signal - Indicates that the stakeholder's product adoption or clinical decision making are influenced by the opinions, experiences, or behaviors of peers, key opinion leaders, professional networks, or other healthcare organizations. Can include relying on respected colleagues, waiting for broader peer adoption, following academic centers, or seeking recommendations from key opinion leaders. Does not include mention of collaborating or working with other providers without a described effect on their clinical decisions or practice behavior.
- Competitive Activity - The stakeholder describes actions, strategies, or commercial initiatives undertaken by a specific competing product, manufacturer, or organization that may influence treatment decisions or the competitive landscape. Can include competitor promotion, pricing or contracting strategies, educational initiatives, speaker programs, sales force activities, patient support programs, or other commercial actions. Does not include mere mention of a competitor, competitor product, or competitor representative with no described relationship or meaningful activity.
- Marketing Resonance - The stakeholder provides feedback indicating whether marketing messages, promotional materials, or commercial content effectively communicated the intended messages. Can include reactions to messaging, sales aids, presentations, patient profiles, educational materials, or promotional resources. Does not include neutral or no reaction to marketing activity.
- Marketing Gap - The stakeholder identifies deficiencies, omissions, or opportunities to improve commercial messaging, promotional materials, or supporting resources. Can include missing comparisons, insufficient educational materials, unclear positioning, lack of patient or educational resources, or requests for additional promotional content. Does not include neutral or no reaction to marketing activity.
- Market Dynamics - The stakeholder describes broader trends or changes affecting the market, competitive landscape, or healthcare environment that may influence product adoption decisions or future market opportunities. Can include changes in treatment patterns, standards of care, payer trends, diagnostic trends, emerging therapies, new competitors entering the market, anticipated regulatory or guideline changes, or other shifts in the healthcare landscape.
Business admins can activate or deactivate any of these default rules. However, the Veeva-provided default rules cannot be edited or deleted.
Business admins only need to create the rules in English. By default, all rules are translated into the user's language.

Configuring Language and Locale Settings as
All Vault CRM Supported Languages are also supported for the user interface, generated content, and CRM interactions. However, device language and locale configuration determine the spoken language recognized by the AI agent, not the user’s Vault CRM language setting. Because of this, speech recognition quality and the available languages depend on the language and locale combinations that Apple iOS officially supports.
To ensure successful call transcription and accurate voice dictionary mapping, make sure the following all match:
- Language the user speaks
- Language set on the Vault User record (language__sys)
- iOS device language
- Active dictation keyboard language
Mixed-language configurations or content are not supported and can cause transcription or mapping failures. Veeva does not guarantee performance or accuracy for language or local combinations not supported by Apple iOS, or provide technical support for unsupported speech-to-text locales.
Creating Voice Dictionary Entries as
To ensure Agentic Insight Capture correctly recognizes and transcribes specific pronunciations—for example, unique product names, abbreviations, and regional or company-specific phrases—admin users create Voice Dictionary Entries. These entries can be applied across the Vault CRM instance or applied only to specific user languages and countries. For more information, see Voice Dictionary Entries.
